Upcycle old coasters (fruit edition)
Want to dress up your picnics and dinner parties this summer? In this step-by-step plan, we’re showing you how to make these cute and colorful fruity coasters! Lemons, kiwis, apples… the ideas are endless. Pick your own favorite fruits and get creative!
What you need:
- Talens Indoor & Outdoor paint
- Sandpaper
- Brushes
- Sponge stick
- Old coasters in desperate need of some paint
Step 1:
Sand the old coasters using sandpaper and clean them to make them dust and grease-free.
Step 2:
Apply a layer of white Indoor & Outdoor paint.
Step 3:
You can choose to paint every coaster a different color or to make them all the same.
I choose to make them all different. Let them dry for 30 minutes.
Step 4:
You can mix the bright colors with white to create different tones.
Step 5:
Draw the outlines of the patterns you want to use on your coaster.
I choose the fruits kiwi, orange, lemon and Star fruit as my designs.
Step 6:
I used a darker color to paint the patterns.
Step 7:
Let it dry for 30 minutes.
Step 8:
Enjoy your newly painted, fruit-like coasters this summer!
