Thrift store finds - Kintsugi style
There is beauty in imperfection. Kintsugi carries this philosophy too. Repairing broken ceramics with gold or silver lacquer or liners shows us that traces of breakage can contribute to the beauty of an object. You can show the beauty of breakage too, by following this step-by-step plan!
What you need:
- Talens Art Creations Effect Liners
- Talens Art Creations Metallic
- Brushes
- Thrift store finds
Step 1:
Some thrift store finds have cracks, have been repaired or are still perfect. You can choose for yourself which kind of thrift store or kitchen finds you want to work with.
Step 2:
It isn’t necessary to break anything on purpose for you to glue it back together. You can find plates and bowls that already have cracks in them, or you can draw a cracked pattern yourself.
Step 3:
Use Effect liners in gold or different colours. Follow the cracks or make your own cracked pattern.
Step 4:
You can also choose Metallic paint to color in broken parts or add other effects.
Step 5:
Let everything dry for at least 30 minutes. Enjoy!
